Environmental management and precinct upkeep continued at pace this month, with targeted efforts across conservation areas, infrastructure, and public spaces.
Alien invasive plant management operations remained a priority during the month, with teams actively working across forest, grassland, and servitude areas. A combined 45.2 hectares have been managed this year to date across the Isigi II and HLEM II operational zones. These efforts targeted 12 priority invasive alien plant species, contributing to the preservation of indigenous biodiversity and strengthening the ecological integrity of the precinct.
265 Refuse Bags Collected & Infrastructure Maintained
Environmental maintenance teams removed 265 refuse bags from Sibayaโs beaches and common property areas this month.

Progress on the completion of Heleza Boulevard also remains on track and in line with the approved project programme:
- Streetlight repair works are scheduled to commence once updated luminaire specifications are confirmed
- Replacement fittings will be installed thereafter
- Paving repairs identified during routine inspections will also be addressed
2 Bridges Open: Forest Access Enhanced
A key milestone has been achieved within the Node 5 forest area, with both pedestrian bridges now complete and fully accessible. These structures improve connectivity within the forest trail network, allowing for safe and seamless movement through previously inaccessible sections, while supporting continued conservation and recreational use of the area.

Cool Weather Brings a Variety of Creatures to the Coastal Forest
As we move into the cooler months, residents may notice an increase in seasonal species within the forest. Notably, the Dice Moth Caterpillar and Tent Moth Caterpillar have been spotted, adding to the rich biodiversity that characterises Sibayaโs natural environment.
