Security within the Sibaya Precinct continues to advance with the near completion of several major infrastructure upgrades designed to enhance safety and monitoring capabilities.
Zero Notable Incidents
The Sibaya Precinct Master Management Association (SPMMA) recorded no notable security incidents in March, reflecting the effectiveness of ongoing security operations, patrols, and proactive management. This stable baseline allows for continued investment in forward-looking security enhancements.
3 Key Security Projects for Sibaya
Precinct-Wide CCTV
The precinct-wide CCTV project is now in its final stages, with camera poles and backbone infrastructure fully installed. The system remains on track to go live in April, and once operational, it will:
- Significantly enhance real-time monitoring
- Improve incident detection and response times
- Strengthen overall precinct-wide visibility
This marks a major step forward in building a smart, secure coastal precinct.
Speed Enforcement Cameras
Alongside this, and in response to ongoing concerns around speeding and reckless driving, speed enforcement cameras have been successfully installed across the precinct. These cameras form part of a broader road safety initiative aimed at encouraging safer driving behaviour, reducing speeding, and protecting pedestrians, residents, and wildlife.

Precinct Drone Pragramme
Further strengthening security and operational capability, the precinct drone programme has been officially approved, with implementation scheduled for April. This advanced tool will allow us to provide real-time aerial monitoring across the precinct, support rapid response and enhance surveillance across hard-to-reach areas. Importantly, the drone will also play a role in environmental management, assisting with monitoring sensitive conservation areas, tracking wildlife activity and supporting ecological protection efforts.
All these initiatives reflect a clear focus on proactive safety and long-term resilience, ensuring a secure and well-managed environment for residents, visitors, and stakeholders.
