As stewards of our coastal ecosystem, the Sibaya Precinct Master Management Association (SPMMA) is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of our precinct while promoting biodiversity and sustainability. Over the past two weeks our team have been cutting, pruning and preparing for the winter months.
Controlling Invasive Species: Restoring the Coastal Forest
Our team at the Sibaya Coastal Forest have been combating invasive species to restore the natural ecosystem. One such endeavor involves the targeted application of herbicide to Brazilian Pepper Trees. By removing these invasive species, we aim to create space for native flora and fauna to thrive, promoting a healthy and diverse ecosystem along our coastline. You can read more on this invasive species here.
Landscaping Enhancement: Beautifying Our Circles
Following the landscaping of Circles 1,2 and 6 last year, the SPMMA team has been hard at work enhancing the landscaping of Circle 7 & 8 as well as the entrance Circle to Balize Private Estate within the precinct. This meticulous project takes time, from prepping the soil to planting and managing shoot growth. The team’s dedication and attention to detail ensure that every circle within Sibaya is a vibrant and inviting space for the community to enjoy. Watch this space: circle 4 is next.
Greening Efforts: Preparation for Winter Bloom
At Sibaya, we believe in the power of vibrant colors and renewed life. That’s why our dedicated SPMMA members from Idube Landscape are rolling up their sleeves to prepare the soil for a beautiful winter bloom. Old plants have been carefully removed, and the ground is being readied for fresh new flowers to arrive just in time for the winter season. It’s the perfect way to welcome the new season with a burst of color and rejuvenation.
