Established five years ago in 2016, the Sibaya Precinct Master Management Association (SPMMA) is responsible for managing public space on behalf of SPMMA members and property owners. Our purpose is to secure long-term measurable value for precinct members as well as those who live, work and holiday in the area by ensuring safe and well managed public spaces which underpin investor confidence.
The SPMMA’s core functions include:
- Reporting municipal service faults and following up with respective departments.
- Providing supplementary services of security, cleaning, greening and maintenance to public spaces.
- Identifying and implementing special improvement projects in Sibaya’s public areas which add value to SPMMA members, the public and other stakeholders.
- Managing development through the Design Review Panel focussing on maintaining aesthetic standards, design, contractor management and signage review.
- Engaging with all stakeholders through a two-way integrated communications system which includes 24-hour helpline, website with fault reporting capability, social media and bulk emails for circulation of latest news and updates from Sibaya.
Sibaya Precinct manager Justin van Rensburg says: “While SPMMA is funded by property owners, other stakeholders such as tenants, neighbouring communities, visitors and the public are also beneficiaries of this sustainable coastal precinct which offers a wonderful coastal lifestyle.”
Please note that the public area infrastructure installation such as sidewalks, boardwalks, attenuation ponds, etc. is the responsibility of Tongaat Hulett Properties (THP). Once installed THP hands over new infrastructure to SPMMA for management and servicing going forward.
