Collaboration between the Sibaya Precinct Management Association (SPMMA), eThekwini Municipality (eTM), and the Department of Transport (DoT) has brought meaningful progress to both infrastructure and safety measures across the precinct.
Streetlighting Nears Full Functionality
Through continuous engagement with municipal teams, lighting along the M4 and M27 is now at 95% operational capacity, while lighting on Heleza Boulevard is currently at 80% as repairs continue. These improvements not only enhance visibility but also strengthen overall safety for residents, visitors, and motorists.
Barrier and Signage Repairs
The Department of Transport has begun the replacement of damaged Armco barriers along the M4 and has carried out several street signage repairs, subject to material availability. These upgrades support safe navigation and reduce risks on high-traffic roads.
Hazard Response at Sibaya Drive
Earlier this month, the information signboard at Sibaya Drive was struck and damaged by speeding motorists. The hazard was quickly reported and addressed by the Department of Transport, ensuring the area remains safe for both motorists and pedestrians.

We extend our thanks to eTM and DoT for their swift interventions and ongoing support. These collaborative efforts, paired with proactive monitoring by SPMMA, are helping to maintain Sibaya Precinct as a safe, functional, and future-ready environment.
