Strengthening safety and security in Sibaya Precinct

Safety and Security

As we continue to prioritise safety and well-being in the Sibaya Precinct, we’re excited to share several positive developments. From the successful enhancement of streetlighting to ongoing conservation efforts, our community remains focused on creating a safe, welcoming environment for all. Here’s a look at the latest updates:

No Crime Incidents: A Secure and Vigilant Community

We are pleased to report zero crime-related incidents in the precinct this month. This achievement highlights the effectiveness of our security measures and the vigilance of our residents. Together, we are creating a secure and peaceful community. However, we kindly remind everyone to respect our shared spaces, particularly our wildlife conservation projects, after a minor act of vandalism involving one of our beehives. Protecting these initiatives is essential for maintaining the ecological balance within our precinct.

Promoting Safe Driving: Enhancing Road Safety on Heleza Boulevard

Road safety is an ongoing priority, and we continue to focus on improving driving behaviours throughout the precinct. We encourage all residents to follow the speed limits on Heleza Boulevard, ensuring the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and wildlife. By driving responsibly, we can collectively maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Fire Hydrants in Top Condition: Ensuring Emergency Preparedness

We’re happy to share that the eThekwini Fire Department recently conducted an inspection of fire hydrants along Heleza Boulevard. All hydrants were found to be in optimal working condition, adding an extra layer of protection to our community. We are proud to ensure that all necessary safety measures are in place, particularly as we prepare for the upcoming festive season.

Lighting the Way: Streetlighting Improvements Across the Precinct

In a significant boost to precinct safety, we are thrilled to report that operational streetlighting has increased from 60% to 90%, thanks to the efforts of our Association-funded maintenance teams. With the remaining streetlights awaiting replacement fittings, we are on track for full functionality soon. A well-lit precinct not only enhances security but also ensures a welcoming and safe environment for all residents and visitors.

As we continue to improve and maintain safety across the precinct, we appreciate your cooperation and support.
