Winter Resilience in Sibaya

Cleaning, Greening and Maintenance

A strong wind storm earlier this month put Sibaya’s landscape to the test, but prompt action from the Sibaya Precinct Management Association teams has ensured that public spaces remain attractive, safe and environmentally sustainable.

Replanting After the Wind Storm

A number of young trees were uprooted during the storm. Landscape crews immediately replanted and stabilised these specimens, helping them re‑establish ahead of the dry winter season.

Hydrating Flower Beds Through the Dry Months

Watering schedules have been stepped up to keep flower beds thriving during cooler, drier conditions. Teams have also replaced wilted annuals and repaired damaged beds to maintain the precinct’s colourful aesthetic.

Strengthening Tree Health for Winter

Specialised treatments were applied to at‑risk trees to boost resilience against cold stress and seasonal pests, ensuring they remain healthy and structurally sound.

Clearing the M4 Corridor

Road maintenance crews swept the M4 and removed storm‑related debris near Sibaya Circle. By clearing fallen branches and other hazards, the team improved safety and stormwater flow along this vital route.

Beach Clean‑Ups Create a Lasting Impression

Even in winter, marine litter reaches our coastline. With support from temporary staff, the precinct carried out targeted beach clean‑ups to keep the shoreline pristine for residents and visitors.

Ongoing Commitment to a Well‑Kept Precinct

From tree replanting to coastal care, June’s work underscores the Management Association’s dedication to keeping Sibaya clean, green and welcoming year‑round.
